Dance Of The Beasts

31 July 2008

Hello again, I have been pretty busy this week and without internet access. But now I’m back and I’m glad to see some rise in the “Dance of the Beasts“.

I did some commenting sessions, and I ran out of ideas. Never mind, I will introduce you my new web site, it’s the English version of a Romanian culinary recipes blog, it’s based on good ol’ WordPress and it’s called Phancee Recipes (see [fan-see] pronunciation.

Another new project is the Blog Tycoon, I remember I was thinking several articles ago about the idea of blogging tycoon, and the tycoon game series. It will soon be open for contributions.

Other than that, I read John Cow’s “Building a business, not a blog“, and I discovered some interesting things about creating and promoting a blog in a short period of time.

If you’re still interested in what I did lately, visit my other sites, cgButterfly and ClubCafe Games.

Liz Strauss WordPress Record

27 July 2008

Liz Strauss has started an experiment. As part of her Showcase Your Blog series, she will be using the future post feature in WordPress to publish a blog post a minute showcasing more than 250 blogs.

I’m already there, number 44, and so far the web did not break. It’s a very interesting experiment, and her blog will get lots of exposure in the future.

Link Of The Day

27 July 2008

After playing a while with the demo, I decided to share the link. So here it is, FloorPlanner.com.

Buying a new home, rearranging your room, or moving into a new office? You can save time and have more fun if you lay out your ideas ahead of time.

Floorplanner is the easiest, quickest, and best looking way to create and share interactive floorplans. Using point-and-click, drag-and-drop tools, you can make your floor plan in minutes, and rearrange it as often as you want. Then you can save, send, and print your designs to share them, or place them on your own website.

It’s easy to use and works in almost any modern browser, no extra downloads required.

eBook Collection: AJAX

26 July 2008

I decided to share all my eBooks on programming. This week is AJAX.

Ajax (asynchronous JavaScript and XML), or AJAX, is a group of interrelated web development techniques used for creating interactive web applications or rich Internet applications. With Ajax, web applications can retrieve data from the server asynchronously in the background without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page. Data is retrieved using the XMLHttpRequest object or through the use of Remote Scripting in browsers that do not support it. Despite the name, the use of JavaScript, XML, and asynchrony is not required.

Shorten Your URL Wisely

25 July 2008

Wondering what http://d95.com/3b5e is? It’s the address of my blog shortened. It’s better than those TinyURL letters and digits.

What about http://d95.com/butterfly? It’s my blog, too.

This is a free service from D95, a URL shortening utility site. D95.com is a free short url redirection service that allows you to easily convert any long, hard to remember urls to much smaller urls which you can share with your friends on messengers chat rooms, on mobile through SMS, forums or anywhere else. You don’t need to register to use D95.com.

One of more popular uses for D95.com is also masking your affiliate URLs. This way the person signing up under your affiliate id will not realize that. You can increase your sub affiliate sign ups from forums, email messages or your website.
