While trying to update my sites’ user interfaces, I found some interesting links.
SitePoint released a free e-book:
It’s brimming with tried and tested real-world Photoshop solutions that will add impact to your next web design project. If you’ve ever been stuck for inspiration, have puzzled over just how to create a shiny aqua-style button, or wanted to create that seamlessly tiling background image you saw on a site recently, you need download this book.

RSS icons can be unconventional, too. And beautiful.

“Silk 2-State” is an icon set derived from the ubiquitous Silk icon set, containing 1000 icons in PNG format. Each icon has two states, normal and dimmed, which can be called using CSS or JavaScript. Also a good tutorial on how to use icons to mark various kind of links. CSS only.

Hope this help someone (other than me).

Hey Chip
What an informative blog you have it here. Thanks for dropping by to my site and commenting. I’ll back here to see what you have in store. In fact, I could learn a thing or two from you.
PS: I like the Firefox referral logo on your sidebar. Where did you get it?
Thanks for sharing the links, they are very useful. Your blog is really informative.
Nice links, i would say the RSS one is the best.
Yan, I found it on the Spread Firefox web site. Just login or register and you’ll find buttons and icons with Firefox and Thunderbird.
Just try this: http://www.spreadfirefox.com/
Everyone else, thank you.
Thanks, Chip for the info. Let see how it fits into my site design. I’ll see you around.
Funky RSS icons can grab attention, but you’d probably be better off applying your creative juices elsewhere – you want your RSS icon to be prominent and instantly recognisable to encourage subscriptions.
Thanks for the sitepoint ebook heads up!
