KickApps has created a Wordpress plugin for enabling a few community features for bloggers and their readers. It’s a single sign-on plugin that lets your readers simultaneously login to your blog and your KickApps-powered community. That basically means that you can more easily create a social network around your WordPress blog. This follows the launching of a single sign-on option for its white label Joomla service as well.

You can now integrate KickApps with your Wordpress-driven site in just a few clicks. We’ve put together a Single Sign-On plugin for Wordpress that coordinates the Wordpress login and sign-up processes with ours. Learn more in the tutorial.

This is an effort to lower the barrier to entry for those that would like to do so, and appeals to those that aren’t heavy in experience as developers. So far the plugin works well with Wordpress versions 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3. As KickApps makes tools for social networking, it makes sense that it would offer more tools on top of this to entice bloggers to use KickApps for the extension of a social network (or community features) attached to their blogs.
